    The Milan City Council voted in favor of selling the legendary San Siro stadium (official name “Giuseppe Meazza”) to Milan and Inter for €197 million, including the previously promised discount of €??22 million. The clubs’ management intends to demolish the stadium and build a state-of-the-art arena in its place by 2031.

    The outsider of the Super League standings – soccer club “Spartanii-Sportul” – has become the leader in fierce debates in the soccer community on the expediency of being in the elite of clubs with unstable financial situation and the role of the Moldovan Football Federation (FMF). The reason were the statements of the former president and technical director of the club, head of the academy “Sportul” Viorel Cojocaru, who accused the new management of “taking over” the club, and the foreign investor – in the realization of fraudulent schemes and tax evasion. The club representatives insist that they are right.

A few months later, the project was discussed at the governmental level and promised to present the feasibility study publicly within a year. A year has passed and Dan Perchun, Minister of Education and Research, reports that the project is still at the pre-feasibility study stage. Has the relevance of the project waned?

    The World Kickboxing Federation, whose president is the Austrian Friedrich Eksenberger, has announced his intention to file a lawsuit against the Moldovan Ministry of Education and Research in connection with the cancellation of the European Championship, which was to be held in Chisinau from June 22 to 29. But the legality of this step is highly questionable, as the legal right to own the WKF trademark belongs to other persons – Englishman Talal Takkush and Australian Robert Wilesmith.
