The tool was developed with support from the European Union and presented at the regional conference “Money in Politics.” It is intended for journalists, experts, civil society organizations, and partners interested in ensuring the integrity of electoral processes.
More than 65 corruption cases
The platform compiles publicly available information on cases involving election corruption, illegal party financing, and other related issues, and will be available for free use. This is the result of efforts to collect, analyze, and monitor more than 65 corruption cases currently pending.
Users and visitors to the platform can review factual summaries of the cases, legal grounds, current stage of proceedings, timelines, rulings, appeals, asset forfeiture or confiscation measures, convicted individuals, and more.
“Electoral corruption directly undermines people’s trust in the voting process,” emphasized Sky Christensen, Senior Technical Advisor for UNDP in Moldova, during the presentation of the resource. “We supported this initiative to create a publicly accessible platform based on verifiable data to help the public see how these cases are progressing, understand where obstacles arise, and how institutions are responding.”
“Cases of electoral corruption must be understood in real time, not just after legal proceedings have concluded,” noted Ilie Kirtoacă, the center’s director. “Through this platform, CRJM provides the public with a tool that transforms information into a useful resource for documentation, analysis, and even collaboration among professionals.”
