The relevant draft government resolution has been prepared by the agency and is proposed for public consultations until May 15.
It concerns the state-owned enterprise – the Mileștii Mici quality wine factory and the Cricova joint-stock company.
“Mileștii Mici”
According to the explanatory note to the document, the quality wine combine “Mileștii Mici” had a net profit of 18.13 million lei in 2025, up by 7.66 million lei compared to the previous year, with a turnover of 77.7 million lei.
According to the legislation, the company has to transfer at least 25% of its profit to the budget. The sum amounts to 4.28 million lei.
The exemption granted to it will allow it to channel resources to prepare a dossier for the inclusion of underground wineries in the UNESCO World Heritage List, including research, technical expertise and preservation of cultural heritage.
Investments in the preservation of the cultural component of the enterprise require special attention, since, on the one hand, they may not yield results immediately, but at the same time they will have an impact on the development of its tourism potential and subsequent activities, the project note emphasizes.
“Cricova”
For the same purpose – to prepare a dossier for the inclusion of underground wineries in the UNESCO World Heritage List – it is proposed to exempt the joint-stock company “Cricova Winery” from the payment of dividends for last year.
According to the financial statements presented in the explanations to the document, in 2025, the winery’s net profit amounted to 25.03 million lei. Over the year, it decreased by 6.7 million lei. The company’s turnover also slightly decreased compared to the previous year (by 4.732 million lei) and reaches 372.8 million lei.
The company has to transfer dividends to the state budget in the amount of 6.26 million lei.
As the mill is currently in the process of complete modernization of equipment and expansion of plantations, these funds will be used for their financing. Moreover, in the previous years (2023-2025), the company paid 18.847 million lei in dividends to the state budget.
It is emphasized that both enterprises, which employ about 740 people, are strategic objects of the wine industry and important elements of the country’s tourism infrastructure.
The investments in the preparation of the UNESCO dossier are considered by the government as a contribution to the development of Moldova’s export potential.
