The initiative belongs to the Ministry of Defense. According to the authors, the new document will make it possible to strengthen bilateral cooperation, including through programs for joint development and modernization of military equipment, research and development projects and improvement of defense procurement processes.
The current agreement between Moldova and Poland was signed in 1998. The press service of the Moldovan parliament specifies that within its framework, “Moldova received constant support, including the training of military personnel and modernization of specialized education”. It is noted that “the document is outdated and does not cover new areas of interaction”.
The new agreement will expand cooperation in such areas as defense policy and strategic planning, democratic control over the armed forces, defense industry and logistics, participation in international missions, training and military exercises, medical care, human resources management, information and communication technologies, cyber security, protection against weapons of mass destruction and strategic communications.
