Farmers received more than 300 million lei in soft loans

Agricultural enterprises received a financial support of 304.41 million lei during the period of the "Credit Mechanism in Agriculture" program, Logos Press reported.

Between March 2025 and January 2026, 318 micro and small agricultural enterprises received financing under the Farm Credit Facility (FCA) program. As noted in the Ministry of Finance information, for 30 of them it was provided in January 2026.

To date, the total amount of funds re-loaned through the FCA is 304.41 million lei. Of these, LE 22.85 million were financed in January this year. Each loan includes a grant component, allocated depending on the type of investment. The total amount of grants within the program amounted to 32.93 million lei, of which 1.96 million lei was financed in January.

Main directions of investments

The financed projects are mainly aimed at purchasing equipment for traditional agriculture. Next in terms of demand are investments in conservative agriculture and post-harvest processing.

For the next period, the program has a sum of 250.11 million lei for loans and 27.04 million lei for grants. It is designed for five years and offers financing in Moldovan lei at a fixed rate of 5.1% per annum. The maximum amount per project cannot exceed 5 million lei.

“Credit Facility in Agriculture” covers all regions of Moldova, with a more pronounced concentration in the northern part of the country.

The FCA is implemented by the Moldovan government through the financial institutions involved in it.
