
Work contracts for the two projects between the Southern Regional Development Agency, the Cimislia Mayor’s Office and the selected contractors were signed on January 15.
The project to improve the House of Culture includes the reconstruction of the concert hall, lobby and checkroom, as well as the renovation of interior design elements. The renovation of the facade and improvement of the adjacent territory will also be carried out. The construction works will cost 27.7 million lei.
In total, more than 40 thousand residents of the city and Cimislia district, including folklore groups, artists, event organizers and young talents, will have the opportunity to hold cultural events, concerts, as well as rehearsals and performances in the new modern institution.
The project “Completion of the construction of a sewage pumping station to improve the sewage infrastructure in the north-western district of Cimislia” includes the construction of a pumping station with a capacity of 5 to 25 cubic meters per hour, the connection of more than 16 km of sewage network and the development of an access road to the station. The total cost of construction works is estimated at 4.6 million lei.
The sewage pumping station will provide access to modern sewage services for 1450 residents and 15 enterprises in the north-western part of the city.
The projects are financed by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development and with the participation of the Cimislia Municipality, and implemented by the Southern Regional Development Agency.
On the same day, January 15, on the birthday of poet Mihai Eminescu, Cimislia hosted the inauguration of a public garden named in his honor. The improvement of the public space was carried out in response to the requests of the city residents. Landscaping, lighting, laying of lawns and installation of equipment for cultural and entertainment events were carried out.
Cimislia City Hall participates in a project on strengthening local self-government, financed by the Swiss Agency for Cooperation in Moldova. Mihai Eminescu Square is the seventh local initiative launched within this project.
At present, several development projects have already been implemented and continue to be implemented in Cimislia within the programs “European Village” (I and II phases), “European Village Express” and “Europe Nearby”.
