
The State Tax Service has identified 550 large taxpayers – economic entities, as well as 500 individuals with high incomes. It is noted in the Report on the activities of the State Tax Service in the first half of 2025.
According to the report on the activities of the STS in the first half of 2025, the most serious revenues to the national public budget in this period are traditionally recorded for the value added tax (VAT). Enterprises of the energy sector prevail in this group. In the first six months of the year, the amount of VAT paid by Energocom amounted to 328.0 million lei. Premier Energy and Premier Energy Distribution are next, with the amount of VAT withheld from them amounting to 145.5 million lei and 133.6 million lei, respectively.
No less impressive amounts were received from large taxpayers for another indirect tax – excise duties. The leader here was Tutun CTC, which paid 283.7 million lei of excise taxes to the budget, while International Tobacco paid 134.3 million lei.
The contribution of major taxpayers in the corporate income tax is more modest. Commercial banks are the main payers of this indicator. The amount of 113.6 million lei was received from maib, Moldindconbank paid a little less – 111 million lei.
The total amount of tax revenues from the seven above-mentioned companies reaches 1.250 billion lei, or 9.1%. In total, the amount of 13.8 billion lei was transferred to the national public budget by big taxpayers. It increased by 2.2 billion lei compared to the same period last year.
