
Works on the Chisinau Solid Waste Project are on schedule
This was reported by Chisinau Mayor General Ion Ceban in his Telegram channel. The deadlines and technical requirements stipulated by the Chisinau Solid Waste Project are being met, he emphasized.
The municipal project “Municipal Solid Waste of Chisinau” is the most important investment of the Mayor’s Office in the modernization of the waste management system. At this stage, the amount of investments exceeds 12 million euros, while the total budget of the project is estimated at about 26 million euros, the mayor said.
Financing is provided by the Chisinau City Hall (EUR 2.8 million), EBRD (EUR 9 million), EIB through the Ministry of Finance (EUR 9 million), as well as E5P (EUR 5 million grant).
The works reported by the Mayor are carried out within the framework of the construction of the Household Waste Recycling Center in Chisinau.

The project envisages the construction of a modern plant for mechanical and biological treatment, equipped with the latest technologies. They will help to reduce the volume of waste utilization, reduce gas emissions into the atmosphere and prevent waste from entering surface water and soil. Thanks to this, the environmental impact will be significantly reduced.
