No more than 5% of the apple crop remains in orchards

After this week’s cold weather and precipitation, the quality of apples still in the orchards has dropped sharply – these fruits are only suitable for processing. Already this week, according to managers of apple concentrate factories, the flow of raw materials has decreased by more than a third of the volumes at the peak of the season. There are no longer queues of trucks with apples at the gates of the factories.

Usually after the end of the most active (fall) phase of the processing season there is a pause in the supply of apples to factories, tentatively until the second half of winter. After that, agricultural producers and traders ship to factories a small amount of apples from refrigerated warehouses – rejects or illiquid “fresh market” apples.

According to the forecasts of the industry association, a total of about 260-280 thousand tons of apples of the harvest-2025 will be processed, including about 240-250 thousand tons – in the autumn period.
