According to the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), the sector’s annual net profit in 2025 was about LE 1.2 billion, reflecting an increase in the sector’s profitability of about 15-18%, taking into account losses of smaller companies.

The largest companies, Microinvest, IuteCredit and Easy Credit, continue to generate the bulk of profits (more than 70%). They control more than half of all assets and loans. The market leaders hold high positions and the sector remains highly profitable despite the risks.

Despite the overall growth, some of the smaller companies continue to operate with losses or negative capital, indicating the high degree of risk typical of loans with high rates.

Demand for microloans remained strong, both from consumer and business lending, reflecting the aggregate share of microfinance in lending at around 25%.

The total volume of loans disbursed by the non-banking sector increased in 2025, reaching over LE 16 billion. At the same time, analysts note that the sector’s high performance, as in the case of banks, may be supported by high fees and risks.
