According to the information, the adjustment of fares is regulated by the normative framework approved by the Chisinau City Council Decision No. 6/1 of June 13, 2022. It establishes the methodology of calculation and regulation of tariffs for public transportation services. According to this, there is a need to adjust the fare, at the same time establishing a basic indicator for calculating the fare tariff based on the dynamics of economic indicators, including the consumer price index.
The measure is based on the provisions of the legislation in force, including the Road Transport Code No. 150/2014, the Rules on the transportation of passengers and luggage by road transport, approved by Government Decision No. 854/2006, Law No. 436/2006 on local self-government and Law No. 136/2016 on the status of the municipality of Chisinau.
“Taking into account the above-mentioned, as well as the current situation with almost twofold increase in the price of fuel, on the basis of the above-mentioned legal framework, the basic indicator for calculating the fare for public transport in the municipality of Chisinau is set at the level of 7.00 lei as of 01.05.2026.”
