
Collections to local budgets increased by almost 20%
The agency was the earliest to report on tax collections. According to the operational information of the State Tax Service, the amount of funds accumulated in the NPB by the State Tax Service in January-February this year amounted to about 13.3 billion lei. This indicates an increase of about 1.6 billion lei, or 13.2 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
By components of the national public budget, the picture is as follows. The state budget (SB) received about 5.4 billion lei in the first 2 months of 2026, which is by 713.4 million lei more compared to the same period of 2025, or by 15.2%.
Local budgets (LB) collected about 1.5 billion lei in taxes and fees. This is 234.3 million lei more compared to the same period of the previous year. In percentage terms, the growth was recorded by 18.2%.
The State Social Insurance Budget (SSIB) received about 4.8 billion lei during the mentioned period, which is by 431.2 million lei more compared to the same period of the previous year, or by 9.9%.
At the same time, the Compulsory Health Insurance Funds (CHIF) accumulated about 1.6 billion lei, up by 174.8 million lei, or about 12.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
