    In Moldova, harvesting of medium-late cherry varieties – Lapins, Big Star, Kordia, Large-fruited cherries has started. At the same time, more or less systematic export of these fruits started. The volumes are not large yet – within a hundred tons. At the same time, a part of cherries, conditionally – “export quality”, for a number of reasons is still settled on the domestic market.

    In June 2025, the project to rehabilitate the 233-kilometer-long Bender-Causeni-Basarabeasca-Etulia-Giurgiulesti railroad section was to be completed. This is the most important and largest track repair project in the history of independent Moldova. However, back in August 2024, the works were extended until 2027 – due to the increased volume. Some sections of the road turned out to be in much poorer condition than thought and needed major repairs.

    Moldovan universities will offer 8.7 thousand budgetary places in the new academic year. The Cabinet of Ministers approved a corresponding decision, approving the state order for higher education.

    The World Kickboxing Federation (WKF) canceled the European Championships in Chisinau after delegations from Russia and Belarus consisting of more than one hundred athletes were banned from entering the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The athletes were supposed to perform under the flags and anthems of their countries, but the Ministry of Education and Research issued a statement about the impossibility of holding the championship two days before its start.

    Moldova will have to negotiate with the EU at a new stage of its European path. A lot depends on how we will conduct them (to agree on everything or to defend our interests). In this regard, it makes sense to refer to the experience our country gained during the negotiations on accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). It was the first rung of the ladder leading to our current pan-European prospects.
