The European Union last week announced a new package of sanctions in an attempt to increase pressure on Russian Federation for its military operation in Ukraine. The EU hopes that the sanctions will reduce Russian energy revenues. The punitive measures will also put pressure on companies and ships involved in the transportation of Russian oil. In addition, the sanctions target oil products and include lowering the price threshold for oil. The package also includes sanctions measures against Russian companies and banks, as well as against the military-industrial complex.

The electoral period of parliamentary elections has started in Moldova. Formally, the election campaign will start only on August 29, but it feels like it has been going on for a long time. Back in May, the government launched an information campaign “Moldova Poate” (“Moldova can”). The State Chancellery signed a contract with the winner of the tender – SCP PARSEC. The initial estimated total value of the contract was 5 million lei, while the actual value was 4 million 280 thousand lei. According to the contract, the company undertook to ensure about 1 million YouTube videos, more than 200 thousand posters and at least 65 billboards throughout the country.
