Stauchen will expand at the state’s expense

This is with the aim of effectively utilizing public assets and supporting local development through social and infrastructure projects, notes the ASG.

According to the Law on Public Property of Administrative-Territorial Units, local authorities have the right to request the transfer of immovable property located on the territory of a settlement and intended to directly meet the needs of its residents to the public ownership of the mayor’s office.

Accordingly, the mayor of Stăuceni addressed a letter to the Moldovan Government and requested the transfer of 7 public land plots, as well as the buildings located on them. He justified this by the need to expand the settlement of Stăuceni, to build a new kindergarten and secondary school, as well as a sports complex, as the existing educational institutions cannot cope with the large number of children. It is also necessary to build a modern medical center with family and specialized doctors, equipped with the necessary equipment to provide medical care at the local level. As well as the creation of an emergency response center, which will include a rescue and fire department.

The creation of these centers will reduce the burden on Chisinau mun. The creation of these centers will reduce the burden on Chisinau municipality, as the services provided will be available also to the inhabitants of nearby settlements – Cricova, Ciorescu, Grătieşti, Magdăceşti, etc., as well as to the inhabitants of Chisinau.

According to the information from the Register of Public Heritage, maintained by the State Property Agency, there are 56 state-owned buildings on the four plots of land requested by the Stauceni Municipality. Of these, 3 buildings are managed by the institution “Center of Excellence in Viticulture and Winemaking” from Chisinau (subordinated to the Ministry of Education and Research), 5 buildings are managed by the state enterprise “National College of Viticulture and Winemaking”. Another 48 buildings are managed by the state enterprise “Educational and Experimental Station in Stăuceni”. It should be noted that both state enterprises are in the process of bankruptcy.

At the same time, the Ministry of Education and Research justified the necessity to keep in state ownership the land plot where the building (wine museum) is located, which are included in the National Program “Livada Moldovei”. However, this real estate is not affected by the draft resolution.

“This is a historical decision for the city of Stăuceni,” said Roman Cojuhar, Director General of the ASG. – By transferring these lands and buildings, to which we are giving a second life, the residents of Stauceni will have access to new educational and medical facilities, better conditions for children and youth, and additional jobs. This is an investment in the quality of life and future of the city’s community.”

Stăuceni Mayor Alexandru Vornicu said on August 28 that the city hall has already received funding for a new project for the creation of a local rescue and firefighting center, amounting to more than 12 million lei, within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Romania-RM program, financed by the European Union.
