The announcement was made at the Association’s annual meeting on April 17.

The forum was focused on discussing the results of 2024 and defining the tasks for the current year.

According to the presented report, in 2024 the Association developed and submitted 56 proposals, constantly participating in the work of governmental organizations and industry agencies. ATIC can credit itself with a number of regulations and changes in the industry, adopted and implemented with the direct participation or at the initiative of the Association:

  • Approval of the Law on Electronic Communications and the regulation on roaming tariffs;
  • launch of the Startup Fund project (support for startups) initiated by ATIC;
  • adoption of the new law on the implementation of GDPR (ensures uniform application of data protection principles in all EU member states);
  • extension of guarantees for IT-Park in Moldova until 2035 (preferential tax regime, 7% of turnover);
  • amendments to legislation concerning cybercrime, consumer protection, occupational health and safety.

ATIC members consider it necessary to ensure continuity and consistency in their activities. With this in mind, a new Board of Directors of the Association was formed at the forum. It retained the backbone of the previous call for consolidated management, which was made up by Olga Surujiu (Orange Moldova), Eugene Galamaga (Allied Testing), Vyacheslav Kunev (Deeplace) and Roman Stirbu (Simpals). The new members of the Council – Olga Pavlic (Moldcell), Serghei Mincuna (Salt Edge) and Eugeni Moshanu (S&T Mold) – elected by rotation should bring additional impetus and fresh ideas.

Olga Surujiu, CEO of Orange Moldova, became the Chairman of the ATIC Board of Directors.

Founded in 2006, the Association represents the interests of the Moldovan information and communication technology industry, including various policy and legislative initiatives, partnership with government agencies and international organizations, exchange of best practices, promotion of a favorable business climate. ATIC unites 96 companies with over 9 thousand employees. The industry itself is said to be a driving force for the growth of the Moldovan economy.

The director of Alfa-Soft company, Iurie Coroban, in an interview for Logos Press, emphasized the significant role of the Association as a consolidated structure. “There is a certain sense in the fact that companies from the information and communication technologies sector unite. It helps to better understand what the situation looks like from the inside, from the point of view of market participants. Practice shows that government agencies rarely listen to the opinion of individual companies. Consolidated opinion, consistently promoted by the Association, is quite another matter. A lot of projects that have been realized have come about as a result of public-private partnership.

Iurie Coroban recalled that within the ATIC initiative, an IT-Park was created in Moldova. “We wanted to get improvements for the business environment, and we got these improvements in the form of various incentives provided by the state. We can say that ATIC is the voice of market players in promoting policies in the field of information and communication technologies. And the IT-Park that has been created has, in fact, turned into a business locomotive.”
