Roman Cojuhari
Ion Ciumac, the agency’s deputy director, has been appointed to temporarily lead the Public Property Agency. The decision was made at a government meeting on Wednesday, July 15.
Kozhukhar had headed the Public Property Agency since July 6, 2023. He announced his resignation on June 29, stating that he was taking responsibility for the agency’s insufficient attention to the activities of MoldATSA—an enterprise under the agency’s management.
“I have decided to take responsibility for the Public Property Agency’s insufficient attention to MoldATSA’s operations,” Cojuhari said after announcing his resignation.
The crisis surrounding the company was triggered by questions regarding the performance of MoldATSA’s management. After discussing the situation, the company’s board of directors decided to terminate the powers of the company’s administrator, Dumitru Vangeli. The Public Property Agency announced that it would conduct audits of the company’s operations.
It should be noted that the change in the Agency’s leadership is taking place against the backdrop of increased attention to the management of state-owned enterprises and the effectiveness of oversight over state-owned assets.
