
This is according to the data of the National Bank of Ukraine, finance.ua wrote.
According to the NBU, in January, banks sold 849 troy ounces (31.1034768 grams) of gold worth $3.976m to the public. In February, the figure was 609 troy ounces worth $3.061m in equivalent.
The reverse process is also going on: in January, banks purchased from the population of the country 645 troy ounces of precious metal for $3.023 million, in February – 753 troy ounces for $3.787 million.
For comparison, for the whole year 2025 the population of Ukraine bought more than 463 kg of gold, which is equal to 14,890 tr. ounces.
