The total amount of U.S. funding for ongoing projects in Moldova is about $31.5 million.

“Despite the fact that the American administration initiated an internal review of its foreign assistance programs, Moldova’s support remained firm. The full financial support for the Gutinas-Straseni power transmission line project was confirmed in the amount of $130 million. 8 projects with American financing are currently under implementation, totaling $31.5 million,” the minister said.

In addition, a new project has been initiated. It is about the reconstruction and modernization of the Center of Excellence for Border Security at the General Inspectorate of Border Police. Costing $2.4 million, the project is in the final stage of technical coordination.

“Relations with the United States continue to develop in the spirit of an already strengthened strategic partnership. During the visit to Washington, held jointly with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, the political dialogue focused on maintaining close cooperation and adapting the common agenda to the interaction priorities defined with the new administration,” Popşoi added.
