
The training workshop at the MAIA Ministry was organized by the National Institute of Applied Research in Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine with the support of researchers from the National Society of Soil Science of Moldova. The training was aimed at agricultural enterprises, public institutions and state structures that already have specialized laboratories and some experience in land resources research.
In particular, specialists from the State and Technical Universities of Moldova, the Institute of Ecology and Geography, the Environmental Protection Agency, S.A. “Apă-Canal Chișinău”, BioLabTest SRL.
According to the MAIA press service, the workshop focused on the assessment of fertility and limiting factors affecting the suitability of land for the cultivation of certain crops that are currently grown in Moldova and will be introduced into production cycles in the near future due to climate change or for reclamation purposes.
“The organization of this workshop is part of MAIA’s efforts to promote sustainable soil management, mapping of fields, supporting the increase of agricultural productivity and ensuring optimal land use in the Republic of Moldova,” the ministry said in a statement.
