Presidents of Ukraine and Romania Volodymyr Zelensky and Nicusor Dan
Yesterday, details of the agreement signed on March 12 were revealed. It became known that the two countries expect to receive about 200 million euros from the EU for the joint production of drones under the SAFE initiative.
In addition, the agreement envisages the deployment of the production of Ukrainian weapons systems at Romanian facilities for the sake of overall strengthening of the military industry.
Romania, an EU and NATO member, shares a 650-kilometer border with Ukraine, including along the Danube River, where Ukrainian ports on the opposite bank have been attacked by Russia and Russian drones have violated Romanian airspace.
Romania is not the only European country with which Kiev is producing or planning to produce drones for the AFU. Among such countries are Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom.
