The project envisages supplementing the legislation on NBM with provisions that will allow the bank to act as a host and independently organize and conduct internships for young specialists.

Separately, it is proposed to approve the Regulation governing the procedure of planning, organizing and conducting internships.

A similar mechanism of paid internships is already working in the Parliament and the Government.

According to the current legislation, interns in the civil service receive a monthly stipend, which is tax-free and paid by the host party. Payments are based on 160 hours of work per month. In the state budget for 2026, the amount of the stipend for interns is set at 3500 lei per month.

Remuneration is also provided for mentors accompanying interns: civil servants will receive a monthly supplement of 1,500 lei.

At the same time, the interns are officially registered – on the basis of a contract.

The draft law on the amendment of the Law on the National Bank of Moldova on institutional management aspects is to be adopted in the second reading.
