The grant line is intended for cooperatives, marketing groups, professional associations of agricultural producers which, from the grantor’s point of view, have a greater potential to create high value chains than sole farmers. The association must have at least five members and have been operating for at least one year from the date of registration.
In addition, the project aims to increase the resilience of Moldovan agricultural producers to climate change and to promote organic farming. Therefore, priority in the competitive selection process will be given to agricultural producers willing to grow drought-resistant (e.g. sorghum), technical (industrial hemp) and resource-saving (cover crops) crops, as well as practicing seed production.
The farmer associations that will be selected following the results of the tender have the right to invest the funds received in post-harvest infrastructure, seed calibration lines, certification and quality management, training of members, creation of common (for cooperatives) trademarks, etc.
For marketing groups and cooperatives, the grant is conditioned by the need to make their own contribution to the project in the amount of at least 20% of the business project budget, as well as the obligation to invest at least 65% of the amount in production infrastructure. Non-governmental organizations also have the right to participate in the competition, for them the amount of their own contribution to the project is reduced to 10%. Details.
