This is reported by the Public Services Agency, referring to the government decision of late August. The launch of the pilot project of online verification of the place of residence or location of citizens through the government platform promises a lot of advantages. According to the developers – from speed to security of information that can be claimed by any authorized user of the system.
The new digital solution was developed in connection with the introduction of a new format of the identity card of the citizen of the Republic of Moldova, which from March 31, 2025 no longer includes the home address. This information is accessed by scanning an integrated QR code. The portal is intended for central and local public authorities, public institutions, as well as private companies and persons responsible for the provision of public services.
The module “address verification” has been developed by the e-Government Agency. Access to the verifica.gov.md platform is free of charge and is provided only to an authorized user through the Electronic Authentication and Access Control Service(MPass) using any electronic signature tool, including the EVOSign application (in pilot mode).
All accesses are logged in the Government Ledger Service (MLog) and citizens can view their access history in EVO or on the Government Civic Portal(MCabinet) under “Data Access History”. Data verification by legal entities is allowed legally and under strict conditions of security and personal data protection. In addition, the “Address Verification” function can be used by anyone to verify and validate their home address. Verification is performed by an authenticated user by automatically extracting data from the State Population Register.
