
European village -2
The projects are aimed at modernizing basic infrastructure in 90 settlements and include construction and modernization of water supply and sewerage networks; renovation of public facilities; installation of solar power plants. There are also projects in the sphere of education, youth and sports: expansion of nursery groups in kindergartens; arrangement of sports grounds and recreation areas; improvement of energy efficiency of schools and kindergartens.
For example, 6.01 km of water supply and 2.94 km of sewerage have been built in Minjir village, Hincesti district, covering more than 1,100 residents. In Graseni village, Ungheni district, a solar power plant with a capacity of 80 kW was put into operation. In Straseni, the sewerage network was extended in three sectors. In Riscani, Cimislia, Soroca, Falesti and other districts, kindergartens were renovated, street lighting was modernized and schools were thermo-modernized.
As of today, 888 projects with a total budget of over 2.62 billion lei have been approved within the framework of the “European Village-2”, of which a significant part is already under implementation or completed.
“Europe next door”: modernization of local roads
Within the framework of the “Europe near me” program, 24 projects for the repair of local roads were financed in March, worth 21.78 million lei. In total, 353 road infrastructure projects with a total estimated value of more than 1.67 billion lei were financed within the program.
According to the government, more than 1.365 billion lei has already been allocated to local development projects aimed at modernizing the infrastructure and improving the quality of life in the country’s settlements.
