Recent analyses have shown that its parameters already meet safety standards, the authorities emphasize. This made it possible to resume the operation of distribution networks in the affected communities. Safety measures, including the operation of special filters installed at treatment stations, will be maintained indefinitely. Emergency crews have been mobilized to monitor the water supply and to provide assistance in case of any changes in the system.

It was also announced that a new filtration system using granular activated carbon will be installed at the Coseuci water treatment plant. This will improve the water treatment process for the districts of Floresti, Singerei, Soroca and Balti municipality.

As logos-press.md previously reported, problems with water supply in the north of Moldova started when oily stains were detected on the Dniester. To prevent toxic substances from entering the system, the authorities in Soroca, Singerei, Floresti and Balti stopped the operation of water intake stations. In Balti, they organized water delivery to the population, social, educational and medical institutions. On March 17, the city’s gymnasiums and lyceums temporarily switched to distance learning. At the same time, pre-school institutions continued to function.
