Ungheni River Port to be exempted from budgetary contributions from profits

The State Property Agency, the founder of the port, the State Enterprise "River Port Ungheni" (Portul Fluvial Ungheni), is drafting a government decision to exempt the enterprise from paying contributions to the state budget from the net profit earned in 2025.

The purpose of this initiative is to “financially support the SE “River Port of Ungheni” by providing the necessary resources for investments in port infrastructure, in order to maintain and develop the operational capacity of the port, as well as to improve the safety and efficiency of the activities carried out”.

According to the company’s financial report for 2025, its net profit amounted to about 29.6 million lei, decreasing by almost 8 million lei. The equity capital is about 149.3 million lei, while the company’s assets are estimated at more than 156 million lei.

The auditor’s report contains a qualified opinion, including on certain doubtful receivables and the company’s involvement in court proceedings.

“River Port Ungheni” manages the activity of the Passenger and cargo port Giurgiulesti, as well as berths on the Dniester River – Onitskani and Senateuca, on the Prut River – Semeni.
