In MY 2025-26, this figure will decrease again to 505 thousand tons of sugar.
The main destinations for Ukrainian sugar exports were Africa (32%) and the Middle East (29%), while the share of the EU amounted to only 17%.
Domestic consumption of sugar has also decreased. By 2022 it amounted to 1.1 million tons, and in 2025-2026 – 0.9 million tons. The main reason was the decrease in the Ukrainian population.
