U.S. President Donald Trump at a White House press conference on Monday evening, April 6, criticized Australia, Japan, South Korea, and – once again – NATO for the allies’ failure to assist the United States and Israel in their war against Iran, dw.com writes.

“Japan didn’t help us, Australia didn’t help us, South Korea didn’t help us, and now we get to NATO – and NATO didn’t help us,” the American head of state complained.

At the same time, he pointed to the military support that the U.S., for its part, provides to the above-mentioned countries. “We have 50,000 soldiers in Japan to protect them (the Japanese. – Ed.) from North Korea; we have 45,000 soldiers in South Korea to protect them (South Koreans. – Ed.) from Kim Jong-un,” he listed.

At the same time, Trump praised the actions of a number of Gulf countries, recognizing, however, that their involvement in what is happening is due to their geographical proximity to the conflict zone. “Saudi Arabia showed itself perfectly, Qatar showed itself perfectly, the UAE showed itself perfectly, Bahrain, Kuwait,” the US president emphasized.
