Trump said Iran will be "attacked hard"
He wrote about this in a post on the social media network Truth Social. In the post, Trump noted that new areas and groups of people not previously considered targets are now “under serious consideration for total annihilation.” He linked the possible expansion of the target list to what he called Iran’s “bad behavior.”
The president also said Iran has apologized to neighboring countries for earlier strikes. According to him, these apologies indicate Tehran’s actual capitulation. At the same time, the American leader did not specify which objects or structures could become new targets.
Iran apologized, but for something else
According to The Guardian, the statement came amid an ongoing military standoff in the region. The conflict between the US, Israel and Iran has been going on for the second week and is accompanied by mutual missile and air strikes.
The Iranian side, in turn, says it has no intention to capitulate. Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian stressed that the country would not surrender, although he had earlier apologized to neighboring states for the strikes made during the conflict.
The timing of possible new strikes and specific targets were not specified in Trump’s statements.
