The state will spend 100 million lei to support agricultural chambers
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, an initiative group of farmers from Stefan Wode district, with the support of the ministry, is “on the finishing line” of organizational measures to establish a regional agricultural chamber. Most likely, it will appear by the end of March. Also, the preparation of relevant procedures will soon start in Cahul district.
The Law on Chambers of Agriculture, which came into force at the beginning of this year, envisages the formation of ten structures of this type at the regional level and one at the national level. These non-governmental and non-profit organizations are intended to become the social support of the Ministry of Agriculture in the process of modernization of agriculture and adsorption of European (donor) funds to support the country in the process of European integration.
It should be noted that a group of opposition MPs challenged a number of provisions of the law on agricultural chambers (mandatory membership, independence and financing procedure) in the Constitutional Court.
