The Agriculture Ministry said that in Lozova, Straseni district, farmer Valeriu Jardan created a modern poultry farm specializing in quail breeding with financial assistance provided through the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) programs. Thanks to a 1 million lei loan for microenterprises, he made investments that contributed to the modernization of technological processes and optimization of farming activities.
Among the necessary equipment purchased were: a photovoltaic system that ensures energy autonomy and reduces operating costs; specialized equipment for quail breeding and rearing; refrigeration equipment for proper storage of eggs and poultry products; a standby generator that maintains continuous operation in case of power outages; a ventilation and air conditioning system necessary to maintain an adequate microclimate; high quality feed for a balanced diet; and an air conditioning system to ensure a healthy diet.
Now the farm has about 6 thousand quails. The products are sold through three major store chains across the country.
The entrepreneur plans to expand production capacity, diversify poultry products and develop an agritourism component, which will include leisure activities and local gastronomy.
It should be noted that IFAD programs in Moldova are implemented by the Moldovan government and managed at the national level by the Ministry of Agriculture through the IFAD UCIP with the support of the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
