The Ministry of Justice believes that “the transposition of EU acts is not just a technical formality”, but a real modernization of the justice system. Thus, after their appearance in the Moldovan legal field, citizens will be able to count on the following:
- Easier recognition of judicial decisions abroad, lower costs and less time spent on cross-border processes;
- Protection of crime victims and access to support services;
- Effective mechanisms to prevent and combat corruption, including protection of European funds;
- Prompt procedures for identifying and confiscating illicitly obtained assets.
The implementation of these acts will harmonize the country’s legal system with European standards, which is a prerequisite for full EU membership. The implementation of 18 more EU acts is planned for 2027.
