Also, since September 25, the permanent mode of traffic in both directions on Albishoara Street has been restored in accordance with the scheme of traffic organization.

The capital repair works of one of the largest bridges in Chisinau started in 2023 after an expert examination, which showed that the technical condition of the structure is extremely unsatisfactory, the structural elements are in disrepair and affect the load-bearing capacity. The contractor was selected by tender only after the fifth attempt. It was a consortium of companies “Gran But Service” Ukraine (Vulcanesti branch in RM), “Genesis International” and an electrical company.

The completion of the repair was also postponed several times due to technological difficulties and newly discovered additional works. During the overhaul, the infrastructure and foundations were strengthened by reinforcing the support columns and resistance elements. Complete dismantling of the bridge span to the girder level was carried out, with their repair or replacement if necessary. The roadway was fully restored, including waterproofing, protective and leveling layers, asphalt pavement, and expansion joints. Rainwater drainage system was installed, pedestrian sidewalk blocks and protective barriers, supports and wires of contact and traction network of urban electric transport were replaced.

Traffic on the bridge was partially opened for transport on July 1, 2025, at the same time the work on the expansion of the pedestrian zone started.

The bridge on Mihai Vityazul Street was commissioned in 1974. It is 300 m long, 26 m wide, has six traffic lanes and two pedestrian sidewalks.

Initially, the reconstruction project was estimated at 78 million lei, then the cost rose to 108 million lei. However, technical difficulties discovered during the works required additional financing. Therefore, after adjusting the contract and taking into account inflation, in 2025 the reconstruction cost was estimated at 128 million lei.
