They also emphasized that “consolidated support from the European Union, the United States of America and all other democratic states of the world, as well as the effective application of new financial and security instruments, is crucial for restoring a comprehensive, just and sustainable peace for Ukraine and ensuring security and stability throughout Europe.”
In this context, the speakers of the three countries noted that “it is fundamentally important to continue to provide Ukraine with military assistance”.
“Providing Ukraine with the necessary means to defend itself and repel an aggressor is of paramount importance for strengthening its defense capabilities and is a direct contribution to strengthening the security of Europe as a whole,” the statement reads.
Remove obstacles on the way to the EU!
The authors also refer to the fact that the EU enlargement process is based on the merit principle. In this context, they “urged that the artificial obstacles blocking Ukraine’s accession process to the European Union be removed as soon as possible and that a decision be taken without further delay to open Cluster 1 (‘Foundations’) negotiations for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova,” the statement said.”
