The presentation of the project took place the other day within the seminar “Sustainable Agriculture – Digitalization of Export Processes”, organized by the Moldova Fruct Association with the assistance of the consulting company Expor Agency. The forum was attended by 26 fruit producers and exporters.
“Our seminar marks the beginning of the PROGRESS project in partnership with Moldova Fruct,” said Iurie Fale, executive director of this association, at the event. – The project is particularly important for the fruit sector because it helps fruit growers to adapt production to climate change, apply sustainable farming methods, develop “precision horticulture” systems and increase competitiveness on the European Union market. In the near future, we will organize regional trainings, initiate demonstration projects of integrated fruit production – to support plantation modernization and digitalization of fruit production”.
One of the examples of integration of the “green economy” of horticulture and IT-technologies presented at the seminar was the Internet application for fruit growers Agromind.md. It accumulates and updates information on specific perennial plantations (soil analyses, soil moisture and nutrient balance, pathogen load) and provides agro-technological recommendations in accordance with EU regulations. “This is full traceability and expertise that reduces the risk of costly mistakes and provides greater control, clarity and predictability in fruit production management,” says fruit grower and developer of Agromind.md. Vlad Vedrashko.
Digitalization of export flows is also part of the “green economy”
Another promising topic touched upon during the Moldova Fruct seminar was the digitalization of export processes through the Odoo platform. “Since 2023, we have been developing and integrating solutions for the digitalization and tracking of procurement, sales, storage, logistics processes in horticulture,” Victor Cazacu, director of Pro Inedit SRL, told the forum participants. – For the business environment, such tools are no longer just desirable, but have become essential The system, built on the Odoo platform, can be adapted to the needs and specifics of each fruit business operator. The key element is the automatic formation of batches at purchase and their tracking throughout the entire operational cycle – from receipt of goods to final delivery”.
The debut workshop, organized under the PROGRESS project, is a component of Moldova Fruct’s Sustainability Strategy for the period 2026-2030.
