Commercial bank MAIB launched its fourth public offering program for corporate bonds in February, expanding its portfolio of investment solutions for clients, Logos Press reported.

The first issue under the new program started on February 19. The fourth public offering program will be implemented within 12 months and provides for 10 consecutive issues of corporate bonds of different classes. Each issue will be launched cyclically, on terms stipulated by the public offering prospectus, valid when the minimum subscription threshold of 1% is reached.

The total volume of the program amounts to 2 billion lei, divided into 10 tranches of 200 million lei each. The circulation term is 3 years. The frequency of interest payments is monthly. The nominal value of one bond is 20 thousand lei. The principle of distribution is “First come – first served”.

Subscription conditions

Subscription period for the first offer – from February 19 to March 12 inclusive. Interest rate (1st year): 6.80% per annum (floating rate: base rate 5.80% + margin 1.0% for Class VI bonds). The interest rate on the bonds is floating and is linked to the weighted average interest rate on newly attracted deposits.

To invest in maib corporate bonds, a subscription application can be submitted at any branch of the bank or using a qualified electronic signature – by submitting an online application on the bank’s official website with subsequent support from a bank representative.

Income received in the form of interest is taxable and subject to withholding tax at the rate of 6% (for resident individuals) in accordance with the provisions of the Tax Code.
