The official release of the forum said that it became a platform for dialogue, which allowed analyzing new trends in international trade and identifying strategies by which Moldovan producers will be able to increase their sustainability and competitiveness. In particular, the forum discussed the adaptation of Moldovan companies to the requirements of the single European market, diversification of products with regard to their export potential, access to emerging markets and increasing the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises through innovation and digitalization.
During the conference, entrepreneurs from different sectors shared successful examples of how innovation and cooperation can turn problems into opportunities. Valeriu Žalobe, President of Fruitmol Group cooperative, one of the largest production cooperatives in Moldova, specializing in the production and export of prunes to markets in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, stressed that adaptation and cooperation are essential for success in international markets. “Today, thanks to association, innovation and perseverance, we demonstrate that competitive agricultural enterprises capable of conquering European markets can be created in Moldova as well,” the entrepreneur said. According to him, investments in technology and quality standards, supported by projects such as UNDP/AdTrade, provide local producers with the necessary tools to become reliable players in the global market.
Inna Baryshnikova, a representative of the Tiraspol Association of Social Entrepreneurs, said that more and more companies from the left bank of the Nistru River are interested in integrating into foreign markets and cooperating with partners from the right bank of Moldova. “They seek to develop their business according to European standards, investing in quality, packaging and stable partnerships with counterparties,” Inna Baryshnikova said. – Cooperation between the two banks brings real benefits to everyone, be it exchange of raw materials, production orders or joint exports. Entrepreneurs from the left bank of the Dniester are becoming more and more active, motivated and open to innovations, but they need financial, logistical and educational support, and such forums are necessary to join forces and find concrete solutions”.
At the same time, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to establish direct contacts with representatives of large Moldovan retail chains within B2B sessions. At the same time, on November 20, international B2B-sessions will be held in online format on the specialized platform www.tradeforum.md. They are open for participation and provide an opportunity to establish connections between Moldovan producers and suppliers, entrepreneurs, retailers and potential business partners from all over the world.
The conference is organized by the UNDP project “Developing Export Potential on the Banks of the Dniester” (AdTrade) with financial support from Sweden and the United Kingdom.
