
Under this project, the government will provide grants of up to 1.5 million lei to SMEs willing to improve energy efficiency.
The beneficiaries will be at least 24 SMEs that will invest in energy efficient technologies, renewable energy sources or energy efficiency improvements.
In order to implement the project, the cabinet, at a meeting on December 29, approved the signing of a grant agreement between the Entrepreneurship Development Organization and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The total amount of the non-refundable financial assistance is 1.85 million euros. Each selected company will receive a grant of up to 1.5 million lei (about 77 thousand euros), which is up to 50% of the investment costs. The total budget of the project will reach 3.68 million euros, of which 1.85 million euros is the grant provided by GIZ and 1.83 million euros is the contribution of entrepreneurs for the realization of investment projects.
Through the project “Strong Enterprises and Municipalities”, the government hopes to promote technological modernization of small and medium-sized enterprises, optimization of internal processes and reduction of energy costs, which will contribute to the productivity and competitiveness of these enterprises and the country’s economy as a whole.
The project period is from December 1, 2025 to September 30, 2026.
