
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the most illuminated in Moldova are the cities of ATU Gagauzia, where streetlights are installed in 96.3% of streets. It is followed by the municipality of Chisinau, where the illumination index is not much inferior to the autonomy in the south – 91.1%.
Ion Ceban, the capital’s general mayor, recently announced the calculations of experts, according to which one hour of lighting in Chisinau amounts to 0.02% of the total amount of electricity consumption in the country for this period.
In the Center region, the illumination of city streets is 80.3%, in the South – 77.2%, in the North – 76.1%.
In the cities of Cricova, Edinet, Glodeni, Frunze, Bukovets and Iargara, street lighting is up to 50%.
In the country as a whole, the level of illumination is 82.7%.
