The government agency’s efforts have been intensified due to a shift in sectoral priorities in employment policy. Territorial structures have recently mobilized and are conducting recruitment monitoring of the labor market, similar to private employment platforms.
Technical assistance from the International Labor Organization and the project “EU support for a more inclusive labor market in the Republic of Moldova” are aimed at institutional strengthening and providing direct services to the population in job search. The three modern vehicles donated to ANOFM on June 9 for the territorial employment structures in Glodeni, Drochia and Falesti, as well as 10 sets of IT equipment and office furniture, should make the agency’s staff more mobile.
The services of the state agency are free of charge and are available to both unemployed and employed people who want to change jobs. Those employed by the agency include people of various ages and occupations, social groups, health conditions, professional skills and work experience.
In 2024, 16,699 people received assistance from ANOFM in finding a job. Thus, about 25% of the registered unemployed in Moldova were employed through territorial employment units. This is a direct result of the ANOFM reform initiated in 2023.
“My ANOFM colleagues continue to bring encouraging news every month, because the best social protection is a decent and well-paid job. We want to double last year’s figure by the end of this year and we will work as fast as possible to achieve these results,” said Alex Buzu, Minister of Labor and Social Protection.
