The presentation of the first set of Census 2024 output data will take place tomorrow, July 15, and will include information on the geographic distribution of the population, by sex, by development region, and by Tier I and Tier II administrative-territorial units.
Last week, a meeting of the National Commission for Population and Housing Census was held to discuss the current situation with the processing of the data received and their preparation for official information.
The statistical office is checking the clock, following the principle of updating the data received last year with the real situation today. The National Bureau of Statistics supplements the information received in the field with information from relevant administrative sources for “signs of life”.
In the last hundred meters of summarizing the final results, amendments are made to the census methodology, as proposed by the NBS. The first relates to the dislocation of dwellings, households and persons from horticultural societies. They are assigned to the nearest settlement within the administrative-territorial units of Level I (village/ commune or city/municipality) of which they are a part.
The second amendment details the process of final population size estimation, taking into account possible under- and overcounting, which affects the reliability and quality of statistical data.
The timing of the dissemination of the remaining Census-24 data is not reported.
