At the same time, the new date of hearings on the topic in the EC did not name.

“I, first of all, do not have a new date to give. But I can assure you that we remain committed to presenting this proposal,” the Kommersant edition quoted European Commission spokeswoman Ana Kaisa Itkonen as saying, citing Reuters.

The official recalled the words of European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen that a return to energy supplies from Russia would be a “strategic mistake” for Europe.

Last week, the Bloomberg agency, citing sources, reported that the EU may postpone the decision to abandon Russian oil because of problems with energy supplies from the Middle East.

At the same time, according to the community’s plan, Europe will completely abandon energy from Russia by 2027.
