“e-Petitions” will make it easier to file complaints

In Moldova, a platform "e-Petitions" is being created to simplify the submission of complaints about the quality of goods and services and to eliminate confusion about the state agencies responsible for working with consumers. Today, petitions are sent to several government agencies. With the help of a single window and special filters, the system will automatically redirect complaints about food, non-food products or services to the responsible body. The platform will reduce the response time, giving citizens the opportunity to track in real time the status of their complaints.

The presentation of the new resource was timed to coincide with World Consumer Rights Day, which is celebrated annually on March 15. In her introduction, Cristina Ceban, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitalization, stressed that consumer protection is a shared responsibility between the authorities, producers and citizens.

“Safety is not a luxury, but a standard to which everyone should strive,” she said. – “We encourage manufacturers to use quality standards not only as a barrier, but as a necessary sign to promote their products, demonstrating that they are quality and safe. The official noted in this context the importance of the new provisions of product safety legislation, which have been harmonized with the acquis communautaire.

A representative of the business community, Eugenia Kararush, founder of CX Core, emphasized that, in addition to sanctions and strict regulations, it is important to continuously train staff in terms of new quality requirements. Healthy commercial relationships are created, she said, by the ability of companies to view complaints not as a burden but as an opportunity to improve their services by investing in building customer loyalty and reducing customer churn in foreign markets or foreign online commerce.
