The Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP) has launched the process of elaborating the documents, selection conditions and operating mode of the fund. Next week, it will organize public consultations on these issues.
Funding for the fund will be non-repayable, and the resources to support it will be provided through the EU4Innovation East project. MITP will administer the grant making.
The decision to establish the Specialized Digital Innovation Support Fund was taken by the cabinet in the summer of 2025.
Despite the attractive tax regime, the lack of a direct innovation support fund limits the potential of park residents to transform innovative ideas into products. The fund is conceived as a tool to support the ecosystem of digital innovations (artificial intelligence, biotechnology, agro-tech, etc.). Its resources will be directed to startups and projects developed, among others, by residents of Moldova IT Park.
The fund’s activity will be aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Moldovan enterprises in the IT sector, attracting investments, including from the diaspora, increasing the export of services and products. As well as the establishment of partnerships with international companies in order to implement best practices in this field.
