
Overall, according to the Ministry of Finance’s information on the execution of the state budget, in the first two months of 2026, revenues amounted to 10, 607 billion lei. This is 3.7% more than in the two months of the previous year.
Of these, revenues from taxes and fees amounted to 10.456 billion lei, 2.8 per cent higher than in the same period of 2025.
At the same time, the funds administered by the State Tax Service exceeded the last year’s amount by 629.1 million lei, or 13.2%, reaching 5.4 billion lei. And the revenues administered by the Customs Service are still above the revenues accumulated by the Tax Service. In January-February, they amounted to 5.83 billion lei.
The revenues from projects and grants have increased
The revenues from projects financed with donor funds increased significantly – by almost 100 million lei. In January and February, the revenues amounted to 151.2 million lei against 57.6 million lei last year.
In the first two months of this year, the amount of grants also increased compared to 2025. The state budget received 125 million lei in grants against 48 million lei last year. However, other revenues decreased by 11.6 percent to 251.0 million lei.
The expenditures for the two months of the current year increased by 5.5% against the revenues of the last year, reaching 14.032 billion lei. The biggest increase in expenses occurred in the item “transfers”. They increased by almost 400 million lei compared to last year’s figure.
As a result, the execution of the state budget ended with 3.425 billion lei in the first two months of 2026.
