The court also banned Tymoshenko from leaving Kiev Region without the investigator’s permission and from communicating with more than 60 parliamentarians. She must also surrender her passports.
In this way, Judge Vitaliy Dubas partially satisfied the request of the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP), which suspect Tymoshenko of offering a bribe to members of the Servant of the People faction. The SAP prosecutor asked to set bail at 50m hryvnyas.
During the court hearing, a number of details of the criminal case became known. In particular, Tymoshenko herself named the MP, part of the conversation with whom the NABU had earlier made public. We are talking about the representative of the Servants of the People faction in the Committee on National Security and Defense, Ihor Kopytin. In December 2025, Kopytin contacted the NABU with information about mass bribery of MPs and on the instructions of law enforcers undertook to document the crime.
Recordings of a conversation between Kopytin and Tymoshenko from January 12 are the main evidence of the investigation. In the recordings, Tymoshenko offered Kopytin and two MPs from his group $5,000 a month for voting on bills or personnel decisions agreed with Fatherland.
During a search of the Fatherland office, NABU detectives found a bag with cash and information about the votes of MPs from different factions. In their opinion, this may indicate systematic bribery of MPs.
Tymoshenko herself called the case fabricated and said that this conversation had never taken place.
