Government spokesman Daniel Voda said that the EcoVoucher program allowed more than 4,300 families in Moldova to receive financial assistance to replace old, energy-consuming household appliances with modern and energy-efficient ones.
“Each eligible household received a voucher for 6,000 lei, which covered up to 70% of the cost of a new low-energy refrigerator or washing machine. We continue to help those who are really in need – large families and elderly people, making a real contribution to reducing energy consumption in Moldovan households,” said Daniel Voda.
According to him, within the three sessions of the program held in 2025, more than 15.3 thousand families received EcoVoucher. Since the launch of the program, the total number of supported households has exceeded 26.8 thousand.
The program of vouchers for household appliances was developed by the Government of Moldova with financial support from the EU. The current phase of the program is implemented by the National Center for Sustainable Energy within the project “Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy for Moldova” (E4M). It is financed by the Government of Germany, Norway and Denmark.
The budget for the current session amounted to €7.5 million.
