AI is changing the design of Belarusian clothing

Artificial intelligence is used at the enterprises of Bellegprom Concern, which includes more than 60 light industry enterprises in Belarus. First of all, it is used to develop product design.

“There are not only specific examples of design solutions,” says Olga Grabenya, Head of the Trade and Marketing Department of Bellegprom Concern. – Such products are already sold in our company network. For example, appliqués and drawings on knitted goods of the company Svitanka or the design of shoes of the company Belvest.

Designers will not be left without work

At the same time, according to the expert, quoted by the Belarusian news agency BelTA, designers and technologists of enterprises are unlikely to remain unemployed. “Artificial intelligence requires control,” the head of the department is sure. – Man will always stand above technology, because it is the consumer who best understands what he needs. Studying demand and trends, the manufacturer will work in cooperation with artificial intelligence – to create high-quality and in-demand products”.

Ecology and safety come first today

She considers environmental friendliness and safety to be the main advantages of the Belarusian industry products. All products of the concern’s enterprises undergo multistage quality control.

“This is the world trend, which can be traced all over the world today and not only in respect of light industry products,” she says. – And in food products, and petrochemical products. Everyone realizes that ecology and safety are in the first place today. Everyone wants to be sure that the products they and especially their children put on their tables or wear are really safe and environmentally friendly.

Olga Grabenya said that in 2025 the Concern’s enterprises will produce 15 million square meters of carpets and carpet products, 4.4 million corsetry products, 17.1 million knitwear products, 2.5 million pairs of shoes, 84.8 million square meters of fabric and 101 million pairs of hosiery products worth 2.2 billion Belarusian rubles at the exchange rate of 0.34 Belarusian rubles to $1US.

“By this indicator in 2025 we have a slight lag in relation to 2024,” she specified.
