To reduce the queue, it is necessary to increase the volume of unloading to 1.5 thousand railcars per day. The average daily unloading a week earlier amounted to 1.12 thousand cars (loading – 1.17 thousand cars), said the management of the branch “Operator of port stations” of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

The department stressed that the current situation arose “not artificially and is caused by a combination of factors: a sharp increase in the load of up to 100 thousand tons of grain per day (about 1.6 thousand cars), difficult weather conditions, air alerts in ports, as well as the impact of damage to the sorting station in Odessa,” ukragroconsult.com writes.

Earlier, representatives of the Ukrainian authorities and business repeatedly stated their intention to reorient export cargo transportation of agro-food products from sea to land transport.
